Lake Skinner
Location: Take the 15 freeway to Temecula, get off at Winchester Road (highway 79) heading north towards Hemet. Turn right on Benton Road, go to end, turn right to main gate or take 15 freeway to Rancho California Road. Go north 10 miles to main gate.
Hours: Summer, 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Winter, 6 a.m. to dusk.
Features: Family and group camping, fishing, trails, marina, camp store, boat rentals/launch, swimming (summer only).
Fees: Day use: $2, age 13 and up; $1, age 12 and under; Camping: $12-$18; Fishing: $5, age 16 and up; $4, age 5 to 16. Launch fee: $2.

Whiskers, the Monstrous Catfish of Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore
Location: Highway 74 west of Interstate 15
Hours: Daylight to dark. Fishing hours: On boat , sunrise to sunset; from shore, 24 hours a day.
Features: Boating, camping, picnicking and fishing bass, catfish, carp, bluegill, and crappie. Rowboat rentals. Weekend rentals of kayaks, aquacycles, pedal boats, pontoon boats and Jet Skis. Restrooms, showers, group and multiple family sites.
Fees: Day use (until sundown), $4 (not including boat launch) for two people and 50 cents for each additional person; $1 per person on foot or bicycling; $2 per dog (proof of valid rabies inoculation or dog license required; must be kept on 6-foot leash and kept quiet at all times; not permitted in water at beach areas). Camping, $11.50 a night per vehicle (up to 2 persons), $1 each additional person; $3 extra a night for electrical hookup; $4 a night each tow in vehicle and $2 a dog per night. Lake boating fees, $5 daily lake use permit, $5 launching any boat (includes day use up to 2 people), $1 each additional person (any age). Discount camping fees Sunday through Thursday during December staying three nights or more (holidays excluded).

Lake Perris
Location: 17801 Lake Perris Drive. Highway 60 to Moreno Beach Drive, then south to park; or Interstate 215 to Ramona Expressway, east to Lake Perris Drive, then north to park.
Hours: Summer, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; winter, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Features: Camping, boating, swimming, fishing, bike trail, hiking trails, equestrian trails and regional Indian museum. Campground facilities: 167 developed tent sites, 264 RV sites with hookups, 6 group picnic areas. Horsecamps.
Fees: The fees at Lake Perris have changed to $5 per vehicle, $4 per water craft, $20 full hook-up camping and $14 tent camping, as of 5/21/03
