Pastor Rev. Jonathan Maxey and First Lady Risa Maxey, Host Site Director of Angel Food Ministries for Grace of Temecula Valley AME Church, are passionate about this blessing ministry and it is proven by the growth statistics. The first boxes were processed in February 2008, approximate total 120. I believe the count for July 2008 rose to 407. The most recent box count as of June 2009 is 400.
The basic information one would need to know is that once a month food boxes are ordered and available for pickup on a scheduled date.
The only rule is that a "Basic Box", (now referred to as a Signature Box), must be ordered before one can order any or all of the other Specialty boxes for that month. The Basic Box is
$30.00. The Specialty boxes now range from $22.00 to $23.00 each. There is no income limitation. A person or groups of people may purchase as many boxes as they would like.
Payment should be in the form of cash, money order or EBT card. Checks are accepted however at this time they are only accepted during the first weeks of the new month’s menu, (to allow for processing).

There is a wonderful, low-cost food distribution center in our community called WESTERN EAGLE FOUNDATION. You pay $25 for a large box of food. The food is
pre-selected, and dependant upon donations from local food suppliers, so the contents of the box changes regularly. This is a WONDERFUL deal for those in our community who are in need of help with their groceries. This service operates on the honor system, as they DO NOT require you to prove your income, and is completely
anonymous. Anyone can go and buy food at this low price, but they ask that only those in need use this service so that there is enough for every family who
needs it.
