software used: PicturesToExe creates presentation in stand-alone .EXE
file. Using a clean-looking, intuitive interface, you select pictures from any
combination of folders on your system. Then press the Create button. In just moments,
you've produced an .exe file that, when run, displays the images with the options you've
selected.
Run stand alone slideshows from a CD
synchronized to the music! |

How was the Columbia Slideshow constructed?
- Using PicturesToExe software and a (not available)
programming technique.
- I originally set the screen size to 800 x 600 but the desktop tool bars got in the way.
I resized the show to 702 x 525 which seems to work okay.
- The first slide is one black pixel as a slide using a black
background color for 100 ms.
- The second slide is the one pixel slide using a black
starlight background picture
with a neon border. The opening effect is (horizontal/vertical) Right-Left set at
5000 ms. In the object editor I place the first shuttle picture, then right click the
mouse on the shuttle object, click properties, check transparent background. Now add the
text "Columbia STS-107"
- On the third slide I change the background to earthlites.jpg and positioned the first shuttle picture as an object the
same as above.
- The motion consists of 150 single pixel slides, all using the nighttime earth background. Each
slide is on the screen for 100 ms. using quick (no transition effect)
- * I used a programming technique to clone the first slide and its
properties to the other 149.
Also I increment the shuttle object position 22 pixels to the right each slide, then
change the shuttle file name in groups of 6 slides to smaller shuttle pictures. The shuttle
shrinking and movement is accomplished with 20 different images.
- The Columbia crew slide #159 uses the Effect >Rhombus from center set at 500 ms. The
background is still black earthlites.jpg .
- The fade out in the second to last slide is the original color picture with its color,
contrast and brightness adjusted for a washed out of the picture. I used an 2000ms fade.
The background is a white background picture with the final
words hidden behind the faded photo.
- The final slide is the white background picture
behind the 1 pixel slide again. You can see
the pixel behind the red dot. This closing slide uses the
Gates(horizontal/vertical) vertical from center At the bottom of the page is an object
button set in the Object editor to open a web page address.
- The music is "Imagine" by John Lennon, saved as MP3 mono to keep it small.
* Note: PicturesToExe is a solid program, manipulating
the .pte data file may cause unpredictable problems! |
