David W. of New Zealand demonstrates great
enthusiasm for theremin building by making two at the same
time, the Jaycar model and the RS Ultimate 2b.
I feel I have made a useful discovery.... |

Jim G. and his son Mitch built the Ultimate for his electronic music class at
Woodward Academy in Atlanta, GA. He has just finished his junior year
there.
The electronic music teacher challenged his students to build a
theremin for him. Evidently the challenge had been going on for several
years; and no one had build one until now. More=> |

Greg T. & son
decided to try something unusual.
I am helping my son with an 8th grade science fair project. His
original plan was to design and build a motion sensor. My suggestion to
him was to build musical motion sensor, with a little google we came up
with Theremin.
"We got the oscillators working today. I have attached a photo of the
moment it started working. Achievement of debug is a great experience." |

"Problems have been solved: everything was working like it should, but
the
sound was distorted. i got no sine wave out it. now i simply changed the
transistors of no brand to ST ones. GREAT! and Lev's antenna is
working in linearity!"
I will send you a further mail after finishing this exciting journey.

Tom built the RS Optical
Theremin 11.06.05
"Stonehew" Tom says:
"My brother absolutely loves the optical theremin. His birthday was
last night, and my mom says that in 27 years, she hasn't seen him that
excited about a present before. He's found a few interesting things
to do with it, including using his own mouth as a resonating chamber;
cupping his hands around the speaker and moving his mouth/lips around
to alter the tone."
The cats, of course, went nuts!
